Check-up and cleans

At Bundall Dental and Implants we recommend regular 6 monthly maintenance visits.

Regular check-ups and scale/cleans or also commonly known as hygiene treatments are important for sustaining good oral health. During your standard examination, our professional dental team will gently assess the condition of your teeth and gums to ensure their health is optimal. If necessary, we will provide advice regarding a tailored dental plan or oral hygiene practices that can be implemented at home and/or in our clinic.

Children’s Dental care

Just as your child has regular visits to the paediatrician while at growing age, regular dental check-ups are the only way to make sure that their teeth stay healthy. Our professional clinicians at Bundall Dental And Implants, provide children’s dentistry services and enjoy seeing and teaching kids who are learning proper oral hygiene habits early in life.

Children’s Dental Care may include treatments such as: Check-ups, Assessment of the Dentofacial Growth, Dental Prophylaxis, Fissure Seals, Sport Mouthguards and many other.

At Bundall Dental And Implants we offer Bulk Billing for Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) for eligible children.

Tooth-Colour Fillings

What is a filling and where and why we do them?

Cavities, otherwise known as tooth decay, are permanently damaged areas on the hard surface of teeth that develop into holes. They can occur when there is a build-up of bacteria in your mouth, often caused by regularly consuming sugary food and drinks or improper brushing.

Your dentist may recommend a filling if you have a damaged or decayed tooth. A filling can restore the shape and function of your tooth, while preventing further damage.

At Bundall Dental And Implants we only use tooth-colour (non-mercury) filling or restorative materials, being a new filling or a replacement for an existing filling.

Custom Guards (sports & night)

At Bundall Dental And Implants we offer all types of custom made dental guards.

If you or your child are involved in sports, you’ve likely experienced an injury that affected your jaw, teeth or tongue. A mouth guard will fit snugly over teeth and can be worn while you are playing sports. A custom mouthguard can be made in a variety of colours or a clear one.

Without a custom mouthguard, you risk losing teeth, damaging the soft tissues of the mouth, breaking or chipping teeth and injuring your lips.

There are also some that you can wear during the night to protect your teeth if you are known to grind your teeth or to stop your teeth moving, especially after braces (splints or retainers).

You can also see section under “Teeth Grinding & Splints”.

Teeth Grinding & Splints

Teeth grinding or scientifically known as Bruxism often happens at night while the individual is asleep. This action is quite damaging to the teeth and their supporting structures including the muscles and ligaments of the jaw. Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) often is created or exacerbated with bruxism.

As dentists we see people with TMD on a regular basis and one of our treatment modalities is to prevent the damaging effects of bruxism or teeth grinding with a protective and at times corrective device called occlusal splint or just simply “Splint”.

If you know or suspect that you could be a bruxer then call us at Bundall Dental And Implant to discuss the issue as we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in dealing with this condition.

Extractions Including Wisdom Teeth

At Bundall Dental And Implants, our priority is in protecting your existing teeth whenever possible. In certain situations, it may be impossible to salvage a tooth with options such as a filling, root canal, periodontal treatment, crowning the tooth or other solutions. In some instances, however, a tooth may need to be removed when those modalities are either not possible or may not be preferred by the patient. There are also situations when a tooth needs to be extracted for orthodontic treatment to take place.

If you require an extraction, rest assured that our team is highly experienced and uses the best technique for routine or complex extractions as well as wisdom teeth removal.

Our principal dentist Dr Shaibani has a special interest in surgical procedures with a vast knowledge and experience in both simple and surgical extraction of teeth and wisdom teeth alike.

Root canal treatments

Root canal therapy or technically/ professionally known as endodontic treatment may be necessary if the pulp (nerve) of your tooth has become infected or dead. This may exhibit itself as an ache or pain around your tooth. It may even cause swelling of the gums or face. It’s important to address the issue as soon as possible to prevent the infection from spreading.

The process of cleaning the dead or infected content of a tooth and consequently filling the root by dentist is called Root Canal Treatment.

If you require root canal therapy our dentists will first assess to confirm whether this is the case and if it is then if it’s a viable option for you before offering you such treatment.

At Bundall Dental And Implant we are proficient in all types of Root Canal Treatments, being a single rooted tooth or multi-rooted molar tooth.

Emergencies

Dental Emergencies are a common occurrence and can catch people by surprise. We, at Bundall Dental And Implants understand this fact and are geared to deal with it on a daily basis.

Dental Emergencies can happen in all different shapes and forms. They can range from a simple chipped tooth or filling to a full blown facial cellulitis (a fat face!) or a knocked out tooth. They can often have pain associated with them, however not in all cases. There are cases that the discomfort is mild but the individual can’t trust that it will stay the same and wants it resolved timely and quickly.

Whatever the severity of your problem is, rest assured that at Bundall Dental And Implants we will do our utmost endeavour to see you on the day and get you stabilised.

Crown and Bridge

Crowns

The term crown literally means the area of tooth which is visible in the mouth (simply white part o the tooth), however when the term “Crown” is used as a treatment modality that means that we have to reconstruct the tooth by giving it a nice and solid cover.

Crowns maybe necessary or desirable if you have a severely damaged tooth or undesirable shape or colour of a tooth. A crown is essentially a cap or full cover that is placed over your existing tooth for better protecting and strengthening it or for its cosmetic enhancement.

A crown can be created from different materials depending on what is most appropriate for each situation. They may be ceramic, ceramic plus metal or gold, amongst other choices. There are tooth-coloured options that will blend in perfectly with your smile.

Our experienced clinicians at Bundall Dental And Implants can assess each individual situation and offer the most suitable crown option.

Bridges (Dental Bridges)

A dental bridge is a simple, cost-effective solution which involves dental crowns being attached to the teeth on either side of the open space with a fake tooth or multiple teeth suspended into the gap. In other words, your existing teeth, or in some cases implants, are used as anchors.

Missing teeth can make it difficult to smile without embarrassment and chew properly. If missing teeth are not promptly treated they can cause your remaining teeth to shift and become crooked.

They can be started and finalised within a matter of 1 to 2 weeks.

The team at Bundall Dental And Implants can give you the best advice on dental bridges.

Dentures Full and Partial Dentures

Dentures have been used as solutions to restore and replicate the missing teeth for quite a long time. Whether it’s the whole mouth, a whole arch or a segment of teeth that are missing, there is a denture to fit that.

Traditional denture materials are still in use, however with the advent of newer materials some areas of denture technology have been revolutionised. Today, there are lighter and more flexible denture base materials in the market than yesterday years. We can utilise these advanced Nylon technologies to make Partial dentures quite a lot more adaptable to the one’s needs and of course they can be more comfortable than older ones. They are also more aesthetic than older materials.

We, at Bundall Dental And Implants have answer to all your denture questions and needs.

Veneers

Many celebrities and models achieve their white, bright and perfect smiles with veneers.

Veneers are aesthetic, ultra-thin custom made porcelain laminates that are permanently bonded to your teeth. Porcelain or in general ceramics are biocompatible materials which are highly resistant to wear and staining. Fixed over the top of your natural tooth structure, a veneer can perfectly cover a range of dental imperfections and concerns such as:

  • uneven shapes and sizes of teeth
  • mild to moderate degree of damage to the tooth structure
  • gaps and unsightly spaces between teeth
  • permanent discolouration
  • some degree of crookedness and mal-alignment

At Bundall Dental And Implants our dentists have years of experience in “ Smile Makeovers” helping many people achieving their dream smiles. During your cosmetic consultation appointment you will have the opportunity to see and discuss many past cases which we have done.

Ceramic Veneers are synonymous with the term “Smile Makeovers” which you must have come across in the past.

When we do a number of these veneers (e.g. 10 veneers) we also can term the procedure as Smile Makeover.

Teeth Whitening

A visually and aesthetically pleasing smile can help boost self-confidence and bring happiness. One of the easiest and most effective ways to enhance your natural smile is by having professional teeth whitening conducted by your dentist.

Here at Bundall Dental And Implants, we provide advanced teeth whitening to help you get the result you want in as little as a single visit. You can choose from in-chair whitening which is performed while you are in our office, or take-home and do it in your own time.

In-Chair Teeth Whitening: The in-chair whitening option is the quickest way to enhance your smile. It’s generally performed in a 90 minutes appointment. We’ll apply the whitening gel while making sure that your gums are protected. In some cases a specialised light is used to accelerate or activate the whitening process. You’ll be supervised the entire time for your safety and comfort. At conclusion of the appointment, you’ll be able to see your instant results, which can be up to eight shades whiter.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening: Some of our patients prefer our take-home treatments, particularly those who would like to enhance and improve their smile in their own time and in complete comfort. We provide you with a “Home Whitening Kit” and instruction. We will make you custom fitting trays/ guards. You’ll apply whitening gel to them and wear them for a length of time each day. We’ll give you exact directions on what we recommend to maximise your results, which you’ll see in about two weeks. These kits can also be used once you’ve completed our in-chair whitening as a touch-up procedure and would like to maintain the brightness of your teeth.

Amalgam replacement (Aesthetic Fillings)

Recent advances in dental material science and technology have changed the face of dentistry. The old amalgam (or silver) fillings have been replaced by tooth coloured Composite Resins. The bonding of composite resin is more conservative for the tooth being repaired as it requires less tooth structure removed (drilled away) compared to amalgam fillings. Furthermore, composite resin material is much safer alternative compared to amalgam. They don’t contain mercury or expand in function causing the tooth to potentially crack.

Here at Bundall Dental And Implants we utilise composite resins and other biocompatible tooth-colour materials for both new restoration (fillings) and replacing old amalgam fillings.

Bondings

Similar to veneers, bonding is another way that the appearance of your teeth can be improved. If they’re discoloured, gapped, misaligned or have minor chips or imperfections bonding may be appropriate. It involves applying a tooth coloured composite resin to the front of the tooth, which can then be shaped to achieve your desired look.
